How the courses are delivered

The courses are designed to be informative but using simple and easy to comprehend language and concepts.

They are also packed with practical tips wherever possible as workers’ always want ideas that they can put into practice without further reading or studying.

We vary direct teaching with some exercises and video presentation where possible. We always try to make learning fun as well as informative as research tells us that ideas are more memorable this way.

However, we never define fun as role play as it is so hated and feared by many!
 

Length

These courses are designed to be half day courses as we are mindful of demands on staff time. We have also aimed to keep costs to you low.

However, they can be tailored in length to suit your team's needs should you wish for extra time for more detailed discussion and/or exercises in how practitioners are going to put new ideas into practice in your teams.

Obviously we are also happy for you to join several courses together to create whole days of training but may make some suggestions about what goes well together and what does not!
 

How many staff will we train for the agreed price?

We are happy to train as many staff as you are able to fit into your venue! Obviously the numbers present slightly change the ‘feel’ of the course. Practitioners often feel less able to ask questions in larger groups. Our experience has been that more sensitive subjects often seem to have best impact in smaller groups.

We would always ask that a senior manager is present at the training unless by prior agreement. We find that staff need their manager’s agreement and support to any new practice that may be advised by the course.
 

What you will provide

You will need to provide venue, equipment, photocopying and refreshments. This allows us to keep prices down for you.
